According to the statistics for 2015 at the Philanthropy Roundtable, this is a snapshot for giving in the United States:
Various research tells us the average United Methodist member gives around 2.5-3.0 percent of annual income or around $1800-$2400 each year.
The next time your leaders meet, share the information above and ask three questions;
- Why do you think the lowest income earners give the highest percentage of income?
- What is the difference between an average American and an average United Methodist member?
- Is there anything we need to do in the areas of stewardship and giving?
